Salto is the perfect locking solution for most access control systems where security, control, convenience and cost are a factor. It is an increasingly popular system used around the world for large systems such as airports, universities, hospitals, schools and shires all the way down to small stand alone buildings where running cable is not an option. This is due to Salto’s wireless system and its cutting edge technology. Salto can be suitable for one doors or 1000 doors.
Salto is used at Heathrow Airport, Leeds Grammar, University of Hawaii, Sydney University Village any many more large sites around the world.
One of Salto’s main advantages over other access control systems is its cost effectiveness as there is no need to run cables from door to door. Very simply, each lock or cylinder talks wirelessly to what is called a gateway or a “hot spot”. This gateway is then connected to your computer or server which runs the Salto software. From here all activity can be controlled and monitored, cards can be blocked, deleted or new cards issued, or audit trail activity can be viewed. Multiple gateways or repeaters are then placed around the building or buildings to carry the signal further. The lock information is all carried and transferred via the card. If there is one particular door located remotely and any changes need to be made, then the hand held Portable Programming Device is used to update any changes which need to be made, such as blacklisting a certain, card , changing time zone access, or extracting an audit trail of recent events. This takes less than one minute.
The Salto locks (or escutcheons as they are known) can be set in many different modes. Office or passage mode is popular, where the lock is unlocked during office hours and then locked again at the end of the day. This lock can be set to automatic via the software, and this can also be set for offline locks due the inbuilt clock and calendar which accounts for weekends and public holidays etc.
Salto is also recommended for offices, warehouses and industrial facilities. Salto is also suitable for minesites for both administration and operations, and also villages and facilities. Salto’s range of locks extends to padlocks, which have an IP rating of 66. This is a very high rating for exposure to both moisture and dust. Offline stand alone locks are also quite popular for certain remote buildings as wiring is not required.
The Salto system can be tailored to suit your particular needs, providing you with all the security, convenience and control you need. If you need only a few doors with access control but many other doors on a master key system, no problem. Gronbek Security can combine the two by providing a key, rather than a card, which has the chip built into the head of the key. People with high access levels can carry this one key to access the whole site, while people with lower access requirements can have a standard key to access only certain areas. This is both convenient and cost effective.
Gronbek Security can provide the Salto system two ways. The software can be installed onsite with the whole package including software, PPD and card encoder for larger systems. Or alternatively it can be managed in house by our offices for smaller systems, which is more suited where there are only one or a few locks installed, and only occasional changes need to be made.
